Research

  1. When will the next Associate Salary Survey report be released?
The Associate Salary Survey is conducted biennially, in odd numbered years. It is typically conducted in January/February and published in May/June.

This annual report is released each winter, typically in January or early February.
  3. Does NALP post or share individual school employment reports? When will my school receive their report?
NALP provides each participating school with an aggregate summary report of their law graduate employment and salary data. These reports are confidential and NALP does not publish or share any school-specific employment data. There is no requirement that schools post their NALP summary report on their website and it is at each law school's discretion whether they share some, all, or none of their NALP report publicly. Schools should receive their school summary report by mid-August of each year.
  4. Does NALP license research data?
NALP does not license or share raw data from NALP surveys. NALP does consider licensing requests of the NALP Directory of Legal Employers on a case-by-case basis for academic research purposes only. Before contacting NALP, researchers should review the directory information, detail the item(s) and years they are interested in licensing, and submit a brief research synopsis to [email protected]. Licensing fees vary based on the number of years and fields requested, and licenses are limited based on staff time and availability.
