2024 Lawyer Perfectionism and Well-Being Survey

We are pleased to announce a new research study on lawyer mental health and well-being. The study is a joint research project of Krill Strategies, JC Coaching & Consulting, and Ambitionprofile, in collaboration with the National Association for Law Placement (NALP).

This study aims to understand the mental health challenges faced by lawyers, taking into consideration both working conditions and often-overlooked individual psychological profiles, in order to support future interventions designed to promote mental health and well-being in the legal profession.

The anonymous survey will investigate a range of individual risk factors for mental health and wellbeing challenges (e.g., stress, anxiety, depression, substance use disorders), as well as cultural and workplace risk factors (e.g., job burnout, team and leadership dynamics), and individual traits and dispositions (e.g., maladaptive perfectionism, relationship between personal identity and professional performance).

Any lawyers currently practicing at a private law firm are invited to participate in the research study.

Responses should be submitted by October 4, 2024.

NALP members that are interested in distributing this survey to their lawyers or alumni can see a PDF sample survey here. In addition, this information sheet can be sent along with the secure link and information about the survey.
